Modern Delhi Public School, Greater Faridabad recently hosted Project Paridhi, a flagship project of SPACE organisation under the astronomy club conducted in the school.The main concept of this programme was to measure a large parameter such as the diameter of the earth using simple backyard tools. A few days ago, the class VIII club members were imparted training. On the winter solistice, 22nd December, those students gave a presentation and demonstration to the other club members which the students enthusiastically listened to. Next students went to the ground in preassigned groups with their group leaders. There they conducted the experiment and calculations with gusto and excitement. It was a great learning experience coupled up with loads of fun. The aspiring astronomers await many more enthralling lessons.
